Wool Clutch Care
How to Care for Your Wool Clutch
The Nora Clutch is handmade from genuine wool, with a soft, plush texture that gives it its character. Real wool is beautiful and long-lasting, but a little different from leather, so it needs a gentle touch.
1. Keep It Away from Velcro and Rough Surfaces
- Plush wool catches easily on Velcro (hook-and-loop closures on jackets, bags or sportswear), as well as rough knits, jewelry and zippers.
- Once fibers are pulled, they can't be put back, so check what you're wearing before carrying it under the arm.
- Don't carry it pressed against a coat or bag with Velcro straps.
2. Keep It Away from Flames and Heat
- Because the fibers are real and fluffy, they can singe or scorch quickly.
- Keep the clutch away from candles, fireplaces, lighters and heaters, especially at dinners and parties.
- Never dry it with a hairdryer or on a radiator.
3. Gentle Everyday Care
- Brush lightly with a soft clothes brush, always in the direction of the fibers, to remove dust and lift the texture.
- If small pills appear over time, remove them carefully by hand or with a fabric comb. Never pull loose fibers.
4. Spot Cleaning
- Blot spills right away with a clean, dry cloth. Don't rub.
- For a mark, dab with a cloth barely dampened with cold water and a drop of wool-safe detergent.
- Never use hot water, never soak it, and never put it in the washing machine. Heat and rubbing make wool shrink and felt.
- Let it air-dry naturally, at room temperature.
Storing Your Clutch:
✔ Store it in its dust bag, lightly stuffed with tissue paper so it keeps its sculptural shape.
✔ Don't stack anything on top of it, so the plush texture doesn't flatten.
✔ Keep it dry and away from direct sunlight.
✔ Add a cedar block or lavender sachet to your closet to protect natural wool from moths.
✔ Keep perfume, hairspray and lotions away from the wool.
Because each Nora Clutch is handmade, small variations in texture are part of its beauty. With gentle care, it will stay soft and distinctive for years.
